Sharing lessons learned to expedite solutions
Katie Carson was very unexpectedly thrown into the caregiving world in 2001, when two of her single aunts suddenly faced the need to move from their home to an Assisted Living facility. While also trying to meet their needs of cancer treatment and recovery from a stroke, Katie found herself completely lost and afraid in her new role.

Certified (since 2012)
AHIP (American Health Insurance Plans) – recognized as an insurance agent who has completed (annual) Medicare training courses and understands how to sell Medicare in compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Certified Senior Advisor (since 2024)
The Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) is one of the world’s largest membership organizations educating and certifying professionals who serve older adults. The CSA credential represents a qualified professional who understands the key health, social, financial, legal and ethical factors that are important to older adults. Typically, CSAs already have expertise in a professional discipline – law, healthcare, financial planning and other areas – and have chosen to supplement that existing knowledge with the CSA credential and the competencies it represents.

What clients have said
“I don’t know what I would have done without Katie’s help. When my parents needed to move from their home to an Independent Living facility, Katie took them to tour two different facilities, asked questions they didn’t even know to ask, and helped them finalize their decision and the paperwork. With me living out of state, she kept me updated every step of the way. She also assisted with the move and helped them get acclimated to their new apartment and surroundings. Having no experience with anything like this, my parents and I were so grateful that she knew what she was doing and could show us the way. There were so many things we didn’t know to ask or to consider – she eased a tremendous burden and made the transition so much smoother for my parents.”

“I am a physician and thought I was reasonably intelligent…until I was ready to sign up for Medicare. I was bombarded with mail and other information, and I couldn’t make heads or tails of the various parts and letters. Katie gave me a crash course in the basics of Medicare in a way that made it much easier to understand. After she generally explained Medicare so that I understood the various parts, she then helped me work through my specific health and prescription needs so that I could make the right choice for me personally. She also explained the important timelines and the process to enroll. I walked away actually feeling confident that I had a firm understanding of what I was signing up for and why it was right for me!”

“When I became eligible for Medicare, selecting the right coverage felt daunting and overwhelming. However, working with Katie as my Medicare consultant eased my stress and fears. She was incredibly kind and patient, giving me all the time I needed to ask questions and truly understand everything. Katie’s warmth, depth of knowledge, professionalism, and ability to clearly explain complex information made it an anxiety-free experience. I’m grateful for her guidance and the confidence she helped me gain in my Medicare decisions. I highly recommend her services!”

“I greatly appreciated all of the time Katie took with me to talk about my Mother’s needs. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable, but her compassion to help others is truly unique and so kindhearted. The information she gave me helped my sister and I tremendously. I don’t know how I can thank her enough not only for the amount of time she took with me, but also for being such a sweet, beautiful blessing on a day I needed it the most! In addition, her stories and empathy helped me and my sister understand our mother better.”
